Official website of SWDC South West Development Commission.
The South West Development Commission (SWDC) was established to coordinate and drive inclusive growth across Nigeria’s South West region. SWDC works to improve infrastructure, create jobs, reduce poverty, and enhance the overall quality of life in Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo states.
Guided by a vision of regional collaboration and prosperity, SWDC focuses on strategic interventions in key areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and job creation.
At SWDC, our impact goals are centered on creating meaningful, lasting change across the South-West. We aim to improve everyday lives by strengthening essential infrastructure, expanding access to healthcare and education, boosting economic opportunities, and promoting inclusive growth. By working closely with local communities, we ensure that our initiatives are grounded in real needs and realities on the ground.
The South-West’s most important opportunities and challenges are regional, not state-by-state – and they are best addressed collectively.
Transportation networks, agriculture and industrial value chains, logistics and trade corridors, digital connectivity, and security all cut across state boundaries. Fragmented approaches limit impact; coordinated action unlocks scale.
SWDC exists to coordinate, accelerate, and strengthen development efforts across Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo States – working with States as partners, aligning priorities, mobilising capital, and delivering regional solutions that no single State can achieve alone.
Bold regional initiatives are being advanced across the South-West, connecting agriculture, infrastructure, investment, innovation and human capital to unlock opportunities and drive regional growth.
